Corn Shipment to Japan Contains Starlink
by Julianne Johnston
Japan's Health Ministry says a cargo of corn for food use awaiting
shipment to Japan
from the U.S. contains StarLink corn. The news comes just one
day
after Japan’s Ag
Ministry said it had agreed to the U.S. plan for testing corn to be
shipped to Japan for
animal feed to ensure it doesn’t contain StarLink.
The sample containing StarLink was among five that had tested
negative
in the United
States but were sent to Japan for a second check under an agreed
procedure between
the two countries.
