Food and Headaches - reaction to GE soy?

I found this Letter to the Editor in the June 2 Austin American Statesman
newspaper.

FOOD AND HEADACHES

In response to Kitty Crider's [food editor] May 27 column about chocolate
causing headaches, I would like to offer some of my personal experiences. My
father, grandmother, aunt, uncle, sister, brother and I all thought that
chocolate, as well as other foods, were giving us headaches.

After a long and detailed investigation into what we were eating, it was
determined that the soybean was the culprit. Anytime that we eat anything that
has a soy component in it, we get headaches. Most chocolate that is sold has
soy lecithin as an emulsifier in it. It makes me wonder if the carob bars were
made with soy lecithin used in the Tufts University study.

(Name witheld by me)

------------
This is the first I have seen of reactions to soy. I suspect it has to do with
the large percentage of RRSoy mixed in with conventional soy.

I have already started a response to this letter.

In the meantime, has anyone else seen evidence of reactions to soy?

We have been seeing sickness from canola - which wasn't human food before it
was hybridized. Since it has been GE"d there have been reactions, like
diarrhea so severe the person could not leave their house.

Thanks for any news you can add.
