OFFICE MEMO Rifkin Press Conf. 10.7.96 Date: 10/4/96

I hear through a non-genetically engineered grapevine that Jeremy Rifkin is
planning press conferences for Monday in Washington and Chicago. The press
conferences will protest the development of genetically engineered foods and
challenge the environmental and health safety of Monsanto's genetically
engineered soybeans and Ciba Geigy's genetically engineered corn. Rifkin will
call for the boycott of soybean and corn products from major food companies.
On Monday Rifkin's supporters also plan to dump corn and soybeans in front of
the Chicago Board of Trade--under the watchful eyes of Ceres and of the
Chicago news crews.

I'll post any updates or confirmations.

In vino veritas, in gala lactose.
