If announced mergers are consummated, five Jumbo Gene Giants will
control 68% of the global agrochemical market and over 20% of the
commercial seed trade worldwide.
Notes: The announced merger between Novartis + AstraZeneca is
pending - not final. The pharmaceutical divisions of the two
companies did not merge. The pharma ranking of each company is
given separately, for comparative purposes.
The announced merger between Monsanto + Pharmacia & Upjohn is
pending - not final.
